Manicure - Grow Up (2011)

In fact the main new band in Moscow out of those who sing in English – Manicure – is in the first place hysterics and nervousness. In the recording Manicure didn’t manage to fix their main qualities – a surprising for these places masterly performance and power. It’s more reasonable to listen to their live performance. -AFISHA

Convincing guitar music is made by the Manicure project – gloomy and in a good way mannered post-punk and by the way on drums and bass in this band are playing two very nice girls.-ROLLING STONE

Here’s an excellent Moscow band which brought in their penny in the revival of post-punk. It’s called Manicure, and is made on principle two girls, two boys. The band is playing in scathing manner, energetically, in gloomy tones – everything is according to the rules of twenty years ago. There is in those people pleasantly understandable cynicism and impudence and it undoubtedly wins all hearts.-LOOKATME

Typical British post-punk but with the same manic depressive history. During four songs Manicure manage to go from the merry guitar slovenliness to the grave decadence through the anxious groove and almost unhealthy hysterics. -TIMEOUT
