White Fence - ...Is Growing Faith (2011)

Proper nostalgic nerve jangler from White Fence aka The Strange Boys and Darker My Love's Tim Presley. 'In Growing Faith' adds a realistic dose of the Hoffmans to his usual '60s proclivities, manifested in unpredictable pitch swoons, subtly disorientating, cross-eyed "what just happened?" mixing board trickery and acres of reverb. The most obvious comparison would be Ariel Pink, but he's really gone a step further than him with the deeply applied effects, getting right under and into the skin of each authentically-crafted song in order that nothing seems quite as it should.
